The one quality all owners must have.

re·sil·iency
The power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched; elasticity.
Ability to recover readily from illness, depression, adversity, or the like; buoyancy.

I can’t count the number of times that I have had to rely on resiliency. Far more times than a mastery of any technical skill.

You know how it goes — Five steps forward, ten steps back. NOW WHAT?

The disasters will happen. You run out of cash. Your largest client fires you. Your partner decides to move to California. I should know. They all happened to me.

Why do some owners survive these events and others fall on their face? One reason: resilency.

If you can’t pick yourself up, dust yourself off, then move forward, you have no business owning a business.

The best owners are the most resilient. Always.
